I think it's a good time to be exploring forms of destructive but nonviolent protest. And you don't exist to Musk & co unless you impact their bottom line in some way, so... check. But they really couldn't find anything more meaningful to say with it than "we dislike Musk"? I'd like to see a bit more creativity.
Those who "dislike Musk" usually cannot come up with any solid example of what he has done to deserve the hate. It's ironic that the guy loved by the left for the EV / green energy a few years ago is suddenly the most hated figure because he chose to expose government fraud and wastes, and decided to switch off the gravy train for politicians / NGO spider web.
That's not irony, that's just him changing his behavior and people changing their feelings accordingly.
> the most hated figure
I don't see any hate in it. He opted into a space where consent of the governed matters, and he's been acting like it doesn't. He has essentially asked us: "Will you let this be profitable for me?" This is just some people answering "No". It was different before he posed the question, before he started trying to act like a king.
The Tesla protests correlate quite well with the nazi salute. France where the burning happened had a rough time with the nazis.
I've got a theory that part of the issue is South Africa never really had much much problem with nazis - they were pro nazi in WW2 but never got involved in the fighting. Whereas in Europe the nazi thing was a bit of a disaster for all involved and the US fought against them. The Russians were a bit complicated in that they started pro nazi as partners and then fought them when they turned. And now accuse all their opponents of being nazi when they are the country that acts that way, which is confusing, probably deliberately so.
> suddenly the most hated figure because he chose to expose government fraud and wastes
People started hating on him when he was an asshat about that one cave rescue incident. Which was somewhat entertaining to watch people instantly change opinions on what technical skills or expertise he did or didn't have based on having to acknowledge that his personality was less than ideal.
Those who "like Musk" usually cannot come up with any proof that he's exposing government fraud or saving the government money, and instead are simply repeating talking points they've come across.
He didn't choose to "expose" government fraud and waste.
He chose to embark upon a ketamine-fueled, delusional disassembly of government infrastructure that will take decades to replace.
The libertarian fantasy of rampant waste is willfully ignorant at least, intellectually dishonest. Bullying those who only wish to serve the public interred is stupid.
(I cast this in terms of stupid-smart dichotomy because libertarians like short words. Yeah, I'm angry.)
Inside the Explosive Meeting Where Trump Officials Clashed With Elon Musk
Simmering anger at the billionaire’s unchecked power spilled out in a remarkable Cabinet Room meeting. The president quickly moved to rein in Mr. Musk.
I'd give it a C-

If this is a genuine belief you have, I think you need to break out of your echo chambers a lot more.
